Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election, Peter Obi, has apologised to the people of Anambra State for the alleged failure of his successor, Governor Willie Obiano.

Particularly, Obi took the blame for the negligence of Omambala people by their son, Obiano, who he accused of abandoning the healthcare, education and infrastructure he left behind.

Obi, who accompanied the PDP governorship candidate in the November 6, 2021 election, Valentine Ozigbo, in continuation of his local councils tour, said Anambra West had suffered for the past eight years under Obiano, assuring the people that Ozigbo would fulfil his promise to them.

“The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has abandoned Anambra West for the past eight years. My administration did the last major road in Anambra West,” Obi said.

Speaking to a cheering crowd that stormed the Community Primary School, Mmiata Anam in Anambra West when he visited, weekend, Ozigbo said the tour enabled him to have insight into the level of neglect and abandonment of the government’s responsibility to the masses.

He promised to ensure that the economic potential of Anambra West was realised, stressing that, if elected, his administration would end the devastating neglect of the area.

He expressed worry that though Obiano came from the area, the people suffered the worst neglect under his APGA administration.
