The Odu’a Investment Company Limited (OICL), yesterday, ignited a move to serve as an engine room for the much-touted South West regional integration by opening its liaison office at Western House in Lagos.

The Group Chairman, Bimbo Ashiru, who spoke during the opening ceremony of the office, said the focus was to be the economic hub and special purpose vehicle that could be used to drive regional integration in the Western Nigeria.

Ashiru stressed that the event marked the culmination of a strategic decision that underscores Odua’s commitment to excellence and innovation. He said the tastefully well-furnished offices and board room would act as an information hub for gathering market intelligence, conducting research, and facilitating collaboration between OICL and potential business partners.

He also opined that people had started talking to the group about rail transportation, and they are even looking at investing in airport and power. According to him, the liaison office will serve as a communication bridge between the holding company and the investing community.

In his remarks, Group Managing Director/CEO of OICL, Abdulrahman Yinusa, said the new office had been well structured for comfortability and ease of operation for better proficiency.

In his goodwill message, Director-General, Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, Dr Seye Oyeleye, said OICL holds a unique place in the heart of every Yoruba person.

According to him, the new office was not just the expansion of a business entity, but also the continuation of a grand vision that has shaped the collective social, political, and economic aspirations of South-west Nigeria.
