The Chairman nominee for Ipokia Local Council Caretaker Committee in Ogun State, Saibu Adeosun, is dead.

He died mysteriously yesterday few hours to his confirmation by the state House of Assembly.

Adeosun was one of the nominees for the 20 local council transition committees appointed by Governor Dapo Abiodun last week.

The deceased was expected to appear before the House screening committee for his confirmation yesterday (Wednesday), but was reported to have died few hours to his screening.

The deceased, according to a family source, “had already dressed up for a trip to Abeokuta, the state capital, to appear before the Assembly committee when he suddenly decided to take a short rest and eventually died.”

Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun yesterday assured residents of Abeokuta and its environs that the acute shortage of water currently being experienced would soon be a thing of the past as government was working towards restoring water to them in the next few days.

Abiodun, who stated this in an interview with newsmen after inspecting Abeokuta main water scheme at Arakanga and Old Water scheme at Iberekodo, all in Abeokuta North Local Council, said he was in the two water schemes to assess the current situation as it concerns the state water corporation viz-a-viz its mandate to supply water to the people.

Besides, Abiodun has assured that education being the bedrock of any nation’s development will be given a place of priority.
