Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has charged the new Head of Service (HoS), Mrs. Amope Choko, to take the public service to greater height.

“I charge you to attain and improve on the exceptional records of the past female Heads of Service,” he said.

The governor, during the inauguration of the 18th HoS, urged her to consider the appointment as an Act of God.

His words: “You have been chosen out of many others who are equally qualified and possess the required skills and experience to steer the ship of the Ogun State public service.

“Ogun State has a legacy of excellence to protect in the public service. Let me remind you that you are the standard bearer of the pride legacy left behind for us by your predecessors.”

Abiodun also called on banks and financial institutions to abolish the system of using the money of the common man to buy off rich men’s debts.

According to the governor, this practice does not augur well for the economy of the nation.

The governor spoke at the weekend while welcoming participants to the 11th yearly Bankers’ Committee retreat themed ‘Delivering Inclusive Growth: Leveraging Digital Finance’ at the Resort and Conference Centre in Ogere Remo, Ikenne Council.

The governor pleaded with them to look at how inflation rate would be reduced as well as how to end non-remittance of public funds by those collecting taxes, rates and charges on behalf of government.
