Ogun police warns transport unions against violence
Ogun State Police Command, yesterday, disclosed it had uncovered a clandestine plan by some disgruntled elements to unleash violence on innocent residents under the cover of transport unions in the state.
The Command, in a statement by its Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta, the state capital, issued a warning that anybody or group attempting to disrupt the peace under any guise would be decisively dealt with, no matter how highly placed such person or group might be.
Oyeyemi said: “As an organisation constitutionally saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and property, the Command will not fold its arms, while a few miscreants try to make life difficult for law abiding citizens…”
The command advised aggrieved members of any of the unions to channel their grievances through laid down procedures, rather than take laws into their hands.
