Ogun security outfit arrest Benionese over allegedly murder of girlfriend

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So- Safe Corps, has arrested a 22-year-old, Beninese, Solomon Fadele Sunday, for allegedly killing his girlfriend in Ihunbo, Idiroko, Ogun State.

The suspect was arrested following a distress call from the Onihunbo of Ihunbo land, HRM Olamide Adeshiyan.

The Corps’ Commander, Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement made available by the Corps’ Director by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander, Adegunwa Adegbuyi, in Abeokuta, the state capital, yesterday.

Ganzallo said that on April 10, 2026, at about 4:00 pm, the Director of Anti-Arms Smuggling, ACC Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq received a distress call from the monarch over a suspected case of murder.

“The patrol team of the Anti-Arms Smuggling responded immediately and the suspect was arrested,” he said.

According to the Commander, preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspect met the female victim identified as Taye and persuaded her to live with him until she died under mysterious circumstances.

“The suspect, a resident of Ihunbo, confessed that he met his female victim, Taye on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Ihunbo town where he approached her after which, they stayed together under the same roof till her eventual death on April 10, 2026. Furthermore, the suspect said the victim is from Ikoga, Lagos State but did not know her house nor knew anything about her family.” he said

Ganzallo said, the suspect had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution while the corpse was taken to Ilaro Mortuary by the Police.
