Ogun task travelers on safe driving during festive season
As Nigerians celebrate Christmas, Ogun State Government has called on road users to prioritise safety and responsibility while traveling during the festive season.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Olugbenga Dairo, who gave the advice yesterday, in Abeokuta, while speaking in line with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ‘Ise Ya’ mantra, which emphasises service and accountability, reminded commuters and transporters of the importance of adhering to traffic rules to ensure a peaceful and joyous Yuletide celebration.
“Let’s celebrate responsibly,” Dairo stated. “Obey traffic rules, avoid speeding, and refrain from driving under the influence. The joy of the season is only complete when lives and properties are safeguarded.”
The Commissioner highlighted the critical role of transport operators in ensuring smooth and safe travels, urging them to maintain roadworthy vehicles and practice courtesy. He commended their contributions to Ogun State’s transportation sector and called for heightened vigilance during the busy holiday season.
Dairo also reassured residents of the state government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and traffic management, with ongoing projects aimed at making travel safer and more efficient.
“The values of patience, kindness, and responsibility are essential not just for the season but for every journey,” he added. “Together, we can create safer roads and a harmonious environment for all.”
The Commissioner wished Ogun State residents and visitors a peaceful celebration and a prosperous New Year, encouraging everyone to drive safe and stay safe.
