Okowa, Emefiele, others attend Ika Economic Summit

The maiden Ika Economic Summit being organised by Ika Village Square (IVS) holds today, June 24, at Agbor.

Chairman of the organising committee, Mr. Kingsley Emu, disclosed that Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour, while Prof P. C. Egbon of the Department of Economics, Delta State University, Abraka, would be the Keynote Speaker.

Emu, who is the Commissioner for Economic Planning, explained that the event, with the theme, ‘Exploiting the economic potentials of Ika Nation through strategic partnerships,’ would be chaired by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, with all traditional rulers in Ika Nation as Royal Hosts.


Emu added that Maj-Gen. Leo Irabor would be the Special Guest Speaker on Security, while the Lead Speakers are Prof Eric Eboh (Agribusiness); Dr. Jude Ogala (Solid Minerals), David Igbodo, a Commissioner of Police (Security); and Prof Stella Chiemeke (Ancillary Services).

He advised members of the public, particularly Ika indigenes, to attend the summit and contribute to the economic revival and development of Ika Nation.
