• Obi predicts better future
DELTA State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has urged the citizenry to remain united for the development of the state.

In a release issued yesterday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, the governor who thanked God for the outgone year, prayed for unity and peace which, he said, were the bedrock of meaningful development in any given society.

In the spirit of the time, Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has pardoned 14 prisoners serving different jail terms in the state.

Also, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress  (APC) for the 2015 election in Delta State, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, while congratulating Nigerians, said: “2016 will be a lot better because of positive socio-economic measures already worked out by the Buhari administration to tackle corruption and return the nation to part of greatness.”

He thanked Deltans for their persistent support and prayers before, during and after the gubernatorial polls in the state, assuring all progressives, party faithful and supporters of his strong determination to work harmoniously with other party chieftains for the consistent advancement of the CHANGE agenda which “Deltans earnestly yearn for and will sure come to fruition in the very near future.

Also speaking, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has wished Nigerians a productive new year.

In his new year message, Obi said as a realist and going by socio-economic indices all over the world, 2016 would be challenging globally, but he prayed that God should continue to be with Nigerian leaders at all levels and grant them the wisdom to take right decisions that would let the country remain focused even when facing the vicissitudes of the time.
