Okowa swears in Chiedu Ebie as Delta SSG
Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Monday sworn in Chiedu Ebie as the new Secretary to State Government (SSG).
The ceremony took place at the state Government House, Asaba in the presence of the Governor’s Wife, Edith Okowa , Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro, House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy Rt. Hon Osanebi Ossai Friday and other Dignitaries.
Ebie hails from Agbor-Alidinma in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Before his appointment he was the immediate past the state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education where he was instrumental to the massive infrastructural upgrade in public primary and secondary schools in the state.
Prior to his appointment as a Commissioner in 2015, Ebie was the Managing Director/CEO of Millennium Oil & Gas Company Limited (MOGCL), where he lead a wholly domestically owned company operating under the umbrella of Nigeria’s indigenization program in exploring and producing hydrocarbon resources.
Ebie directed MOGCL operations in a way that integrated the strategic considerations of industry partners and stakeholders.
He attended the University of Benin, from 1986 to 1991 and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and proceeded to the Nigeria Law School between 1991 to 1992 where he was called to the Nigerian Bar.
Ebie had past experience guiding the boutique law firm Okonjo, Odiawa & Ebie – Legal Practitioners. He also played a vital role in launching ThisDay Newspapers, published by Leaders & Company Limited.
