
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, on Saturday, expressed his condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state over the death of his eldest brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
Oba Olakulehin described the death of the deceased as sad noting that it is an inevitable end for all mortals
The monarch made these known in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, and made available to journalists on Saturday in Ibadan the Oyo state capital.
Engineer Sunday Makinde, the elder brother of Governor Seyi Makinde died in the early hours of Friday at the age of 65.
The monarch stated that available information in the public domain revealed that the deceased was a humble and accomplished individual.
He added that the deceased contributed positively to Ibadanland, Oyo state, and Nigeria in general.
“The Olubadan of Ibadanland is using this medium to sympathise with Governor Seyi Makinde, his immediate and extended family members over the sudden death of his eldest brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
“Available information in the public domain revealed that Engineer Sunday Makinde contributed positively to the development of Ibadan, Oyo state, and Nigeria as a whole.
“I therefore express my condolences to the Governor urging him to take heart. It is always painful to lose a loved one but who are we to question what God has done?
“It is my prayer that the gentle soul of the deceased will rest in perfect peace and God will grant the entire Makinde family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
