THREE weeks after the Court of Appeal, Benin City, Edo State declared him winner of the March 28, 2015 Delta Central senatorial election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday presented Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege of the Labour Party (LP) a Certificate of Return.

The appellant court had last December 19 annulled the election of Chief Ighoyota Amori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pronounced Omo-Agege winner.

INEC’s National Commissioner, South South, Dr. Mohammed Mustapha Lecky, during the presentation yesterday in Abuja, said the commission was obedient to rule of law and congratulated the victor.

Responding, an elated Omo-Agege thanked the people of the senatorial district for their unalloyed support and reaffirmed his commitment to give them effective representation at the National Assembly.
