Ondo declares three-day mourning for late SSG

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the weekend, declared a three-day mourning period and prayer for the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), TemitayoOluwatuyi.

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the weekend, declared a three-day mourning period and prayer for the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), TemitayoOluwatuyi.

The mourning would run from January 5-7.

Aiyedatiwa, who made the announcement during a condolence visit to the widow and family of the deceased in Akure, stated that the late SSG was a notable figure in the state’s governance and politics.

Oluwatuyi, popularly known as ‘Tukana’ within the state’s political circle, died on Saturday, in the course of receiving treatment after a car accident on December 17 while travelling from Akure to Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the governor, who led members of the State Executive Council on the trip, the history of the state would not be complete without a mention of the impacts of the departed Oluwatuyi

Aiyedatiwa extolled the deceased’s virtues of Oluwatuyi, describing him as a complete gentleman, who conducted his public and private life with decorum and humility.
“Hon. TemitayoOluwatuyi lived a fulfilled life, and made positive impacts on many people,” he said.

BESIDES, his Oyo counterpart, ‘Seyi Makinde, has registered his condolences on the passage.

In a statement at the weekend, the Oyo helmsman described the passing as painful and shocking.

The governor, who also condoled with the Ondo State government, the family of the late SSG, as well as the people of the state, prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Makinde said: “I commiserate with Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the unfortunate death of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi.

“I equally express my condolences to the state government, the family of the deceased, as well as the people of Ondo State on the demise of Mr, Oluwatuyi.”

ALSO, the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, OluyemiIbiloye, commiserated with the state government over the incident.

He equally condoled with the family and the people of the state.

In a statement yesterday in Akure, the commandant eulogised: “Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi was visibly a people’s person, accommodating, fatherly, and concerned about the security and well-being of the state.

“Our working relationship was short, but it was full of quality discharge of service towards the development of Ondo State.”
