Ondo lawmaker, Makinde facilitates relief materials for flood victims
A lawmaker representing Ondo East/West federal constituency, Abiola Makinde has distributed relief materials facilitated through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to flood victims in his constituency.
The relief materials, including food items, sewing machines, and grinding machines, were received by the beneficiaries, who had been documented as flood victims.
Officials from NEMA and the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency witnessed the distribution.
Makinde, who is also the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Human Right, noted that this was the first batch of relief materials, with more items like cement, roofing sheets, and mattresses expected to arrive.
He also assured that efforts were being made to prevent future flooding in identified areas, such as Itanla in Ondo town.
“This is the first batch of the relief materials other relief materials are still being expected.”
