Ondo, UNICEF relaunch campaign team on women, children rights protection

The Ondo State government in conjunction with the United Nation’s Children Social Mobilisation Fund (UNICEF) will tomorrow, re -launch the State Social Mobilisation and Technical Committee assigned to embark on public enlightenment campaigns aimed at improving the well-being and protection of the fundamental rights of women and children .

The state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade, is scheduled to declare the programme open and re-launch the committee.

According to a statement issued by the Information Ministry, the event is billed to hold at the Royal Bird Hotel in Ijapo, Akure.

The statement explained that the composition of the committee is inter-sartorial, adding that members are drawn from ministries, agencies and other stakeholders implementing UNICEF-supported programmes in the state.

The committee is also expected to enhance public enlightenment campaigns, articulated at effecting positive behavioural change on the part of the people towards welfare of children and women.
