The Abia State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Francesca Ifon has denied the rumour that corps members are fleeing as result of Army’s Operation Python Dance.

Ifon told The Guardian that no serving corps member left the state, insisting there was and still is no cause for them to flee. “Abia State is very safe and no stranger has been served quit notice.”

According to her, corps members serving in the state have been law abiding, while those who had genuine reasons to travel were permitted, after submitting an application to that effect.

Corroborating the Coordinator, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Mrs Ezinne Ifenyinwa Uwasomba said when she was notified about the social media report, she quickly liaised with the state NYSC Coordinator, with investigation showing that the report was fabricated to cause panic and confusion.
