
Customs Comptroller, Ben Oramalugo, has taken over the reins of leadership at the Oyo/Osun Area Command as the substantive Customs Area Controller.
During a brief handing and taking over at the Command’s conference room in Ibadan, Comptroller, Babajide Jaiyeoba, congratulated the substantive Area Controller on his posting.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Kayode Wey, the outgoing Customs boss stated the achievements of the command under his leadership, include surpassing the revenue targets for 2022 and significant seizures of contraband.
He appreciated the officers and personnel of the command for their cooperation, professionalism and resilience in achieving set objectives and urged them to continue working as a team, operate within the confines of the law, and extend the same cooperation to his successor.
In his remarks, Oramalugo explained that the core duties of Customs officers include revenue generation, trade facilitation and suppression of smuggling.
He commended his predecessor for his achievements and pledged to build on his legacy. Oramalugo called for the same level of cooperation and support from the officers and personnel of the command, promising to maintain an open-door policy.
He encouraged objective criticism of the command operations to enhance service delivery and achieve greater success.
Oramalugo was among the comptrollers recently redeployed by the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
