Ortom cautions electoral body against unethical conduct
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has warned members of the newly inaugurated Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) against compromising the integrity of the commission, warning that any of them found wanting would be prosecuted.
Ortom, who stated this yesterday during the inauguration of members of the commission, further stressed that his administration’s zero tolerance for corruption is not negotiable.
The governor also advised them not to divert resources meant for provision of services into personal use but to conduct a credible, transparent, free and fair polls and respect the will of the people by ensuring that every vote counts.
“The integrity of our electoral process and its reputation must be carefully nurtured so that it can earn the respect and confidence of our people,” he noted.
