
THE official take-off of academic activities at Augustine University, Ilara, (AUI), Epe, Lagos, for the 2015/2016 academic session has been scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2015.
Catholic Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, Alfred Adewale Martins, who announced this at a briefing shortly after a media tour of the campus, said the university is ready for resumption.
He said the inauguration ceremony, scheduled to take place on Friday, October 23, 2015, would have Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in attendance as chief guest of honour and keynote speaker. AUI Project Initiator, Archbishop Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie and the Alara of Ilara, Alhaji Adesanya, are the fathers of the day.
Other dignitaries expected at the occasion include Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga; Chairman of Arik Air, Sir Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide; Mother of the Day, Lady ’Doja Otedola and Lt.-Gen. T.Y. Danjuma (rtd), who would chair the occasion, among other dignitaries.
