Osun State government releases N472m to LAUTECH

Osun State Government has released N472 million to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, to enhance smooth running of the institution.

The payment came barely about two weeks after Governors Gboyega Oyetola and Seyi Makinde met in Abuja to discuss the problem of funding and ownership crisis rocking the university.

Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Prof. Oladapo Afolabi, had facilitated a meeting between the governors to chart a way forward for the troubled institution.

In a letter addressed to the chairman of the university’s council, signed by the Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebamiji, the governor noted that the release of the fund was in line with the earlier agreement reached at a meeting in Abuja between him and his Oyo State counterpart on the need to ensure “financial stability and sustainability”of the institution.
