TotalEnergies promises more impactful projects
The Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Caroline Adepoju, yesterday, said that the Service needs more facilities and centres to meet up with prompt passport issuance.
She stated this at the NIS office in Ikoyi, Lagos, where she commissioned the Information Desk remodelled by TotalEnergies, which was a fully-furnished information desk, equipped with a public address system, CCTV surveillance system and computers, donated by TotalEnergies and its partners to support the NIS.
She said: “The partnership between NIS and TotalEnergies did not start today and we have benefited from the support they have provided. The system we commissioned further reiterates the importance of security in our environment and the significance of information dissemination.”
Also, Managing Director, TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited, Matthieu Bouyer, who was represented by the company’s acting General Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Tonye Osifo, at the commissioning, said: “TotalEnergies is an energy company committed to sustainable development of its host regions and people. In Nigeria, our approach has been to intervene in the critical areas of the society with initiatives that create the greatest impact, while promoting the realisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development goals.”
“TotalEnergies identifies the NIS as an important agency of government that projects the image of Nigeria, and the smooth delivery of its services is critical for the wellbeing of the people. For this reason, we did not hesitate to respond when we received the request from the Ikoyi Passport Office to support.
“The aim is to facilitate smooth operation of passport issuance by providing capability for communication to people on the premises and ensure better organisation and security. We believe that this facility will be put to good use to create a conducive environment for effective information sharing with members of the public and indeed within the NIS. As a responsible energy company committed to leaving impactful footprints in all regions of our operations, we will continue to contribute meaningfully to societal development.
