The national electricity grid yesterday experienced system collapse, leaving residents in total darkness across the federation.
Indeed, while the network rose to 5,114 megawatts (MW) on Tuesday, a feat not reached for over two months, bulk power available to 11 distribution companies (DisCos) drastically reduced as the failure occurred about 2:33p.m.
The Public Relations Manager for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Oyebode Fadipe, said the development limited power supply by his organisation to 20 megawatts.
