Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Ajiboye Isaac Omodewu, is dead. Omodewu was said to have reportedly died in the late hours of yesterday in the United States (U.S.) where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness since November last year. He was 61 years old.

Meanwhile, the APC in Oyo State has described the passing of Omodewu as a devastating blow and a colossal loss not only to the party but also to the entire nation.

In a statement, yesterday, by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the Oyo APC expressed utmost shock and disbelief over the transition of Omodewu who served as a commissioner between 2011 and 2019 in the two-term administration of the late Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Also, Senator Sharafadeen Alli has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Omodewu. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, yesterday, in Ibadan, Alli described Omodewu’s death as a monumental loss to the party and the entire state.

According to Alli, Omodewu was a man of integrity, wisdom and unwavering dedication to the progress of the APC in Oyo State. The lawmaker, therefore, urged members of the party and those who knew Omodewu to honour his memory by upholding the values he stood for.
