Oyo APC lawmaker defects to PDP
We won’t miss him, says minority leader
The lawmaker representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere State Constituency, Simon Adegbola Oyeleke, yesterday, dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawmaker, whose letter of defection was read by the Clerk of the House, Yetunde Awe, said he was leaving the APC because of internal rancour and shenanigans in the party.
BUT reacting to the development, the Minority Leader of the House, Asimiyu Alarape, said the APC would not miss the defected parliamentarian.
Alarape said: “What is happening now is not new. Politics is about conflict management. If someone is disgruntled, it does not concern us. We wish him the best but we will not miss him. We never see him as one of us.”
On his part, the Speaker of the House, Adebo Ogundoyin, congratulated the PDP.
