Oyo approves N9.3b to procure 106 mass buses

Oyo State government has approved the procurement of 106 mass transit buses to enhance mobility and complement its fleet of buses in the pacesetter transport service with an estimated cost of N9.3 billion.

Oyo State government has approved the procurement of 106 mass transit buses to enhance mobility and complement its fleet of buses in the pacesetter transport service with an estimated cost of N9.3 billion.

The approval was part of the resolutions reached at the 29th State Executive Council meeting.

The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, who disclosed this at a briefing, yesterday, said that the rapid transit system would be involved in interstate services, assist in mobility of agricultural produces and positively impact on the state economy.

Also, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Niyi Farinto, said the council had granted approval for the rehabilitation and construction of two link roads around Akobo to relieve traffic tension in the axis.
