Oyo begins screening for newly recruited teachers
The Oyo State Post-Primary Schools Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced the commencement of the screening exercise, distribution of appointment letters, and documentation for newly recruited teachers across the state.
In a statement on ‘X’, TESCOM emphasised its commitment to ensuring a seamless process for the successful candidates.
“This exercise is crucial to integrating the new teachers into the state’s education system and ensuring they are adequately prepared to take up their responsibilities,” said TESCOM Chairman, Akinade Alamu.
The recruitment exercise, which began earlier this year, saw over 9,000 candidates passing the computer-based tests and undergoing interviews.
“This process reaffirms our dedication to improving the quality of education in Oyo State by recruiting qualified teachers into our schools,” Alamu added.
TESCOM said the exercise will begin on Monday, 30 December 2024. It also said the screening will take place in individual zones.

Successful candidates are required to come with the following for the screening exercise

All candidates are required to present the following:
1. Printout of congratulatory letter.
2. Birth certificate or declaration of age.
3. Evidence of local government of origin.
4. Original certificate credentials.
5. NYSC certificate, letter of exception, or attestation.
6. Change of name documents (if applicable).
7. Two recent passport photographs.
8. Two office files with two photocopies of all required documents.
9. Evidence of medical test from a government-approved hospital (to be completed later).
TESCOM also warned that all postings of the newly recruited teachers to zones would be handled centrally by its headquarters, and swapping of zonal postings at the zonal level would not be allowed.
