The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has raised the alarm over the influx of terrorists into the state from Kaduna, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi and other states.

Sule, who disclosed this yesterday, when he convened an emergency Security Council meeting at the government house in Lafia, said the meeting became imperative in view of some of the security challenges experienced in the state.

The Governor explained that the increasing kidnapping and killings in some parts of Nasarawa, are clear indicators that the terrorists were already in the state, noting that the terrorists are mostly in Karu, Toto, Awe and Nasarawa Local Councils.

The governor however, commended the security agencies and traditional rulers, for their unflinching support in the fight against insecurity in the state.

In their separate addresses, the Commissioner of police, Adesina Soyemi along side Lafia council Chairman and monarchs, stated that the security agencies will intensify patrols to carry out raids to stamp out the terrorists.

They appealed to the residents to work in synergy with the security agencies to ensure suspected bandits do not overrun the state to cause mayhem.

The police commissioner added that the council resolved that any suspicious gathering and people be promptly reported to the security agencies, or the traditional rulers within their areas.
