Goodknight Group has said lack of basic amenities is firming diseases in Nigeria.

It observed that 83 million citizens lack access to healthcare services, while 60 million others live in areas with poor sanitary facilities.

The firm, in a statement, said over-crowded apartments and filthy surroundings encourage diseases evidenced in the rise and resilience of malaria.

“Malaria is known to be one of the world’s deadliest diseases and has remained a major threat to economic development and public health in Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones,” the group added.

Consequently, the organisation hosted an awareness walkathon to sensitise communities to the deadliness of malaria and how to contain the virus as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts at enthroning a disease-free society.
