Chairman of Zone 9 Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Umuahia, Abia State, Dr. Ugochukwu Obi, has said that the committee is happy with the creation of the Department of Elections Monitoring Operations by the police authorities.

He expressed optimism that the department would engender smoother and more successful elections in the country.Obi told The Guardian yesterday in Umuahia that the immediate past Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration in the zone, Mr. Ade Soyemi Adesina, who was promoted recently to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP), heads the new department at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
