Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has hit out at Peter Obi, saying the Labour Party (LP) chieftain lied over his comment not to have seen an ambulance in a presidential convoy.
“Peter Obi said he has never seen a President have an ambulance in his convoy other than President Tinubu, and he lied,” Reno said on Monday in a post on his official X account.
“Every U.S. President has at least two ambulances in their motorcade. President Ronald Reagan was saved after John Hinckley Jr. shot him on March 30, 1980, due to his presidential ambulance.”
Reno also posted a photo of one of several ambulances in President Donald Trump’s convoy, saying “this one broke down, causing a big scandal. The American public was angry that their president’s ambulance broke down, endangering his life.
“But in Nigeria, Peter Obi does not want our president to have an ambulance. Does Obi want to kill President Tinubu? Is that his plan?
“Please fact-check me: Peter Obi bought 400 cars and distributed them to Anambra Igwes when he was governor (are there even up to 400 Igwes in Anambra as he claimed?), yet he does not want the president to have an ambulance.”
Reno, who was a media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, is known to be a major critic of Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party.
