Nigerians have been called upon to use their votes wisely and refuse to be carried away or allow their conscience to be bought over by selfish politicians.

Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) National President and General Superintendent of Gospel Light International Ministries (a.k.a New Covenant Gospel Church), Rev. Felix Omobude, said this in an interview with The Guardian while speaking on Easter. He said Nigerians should be hopeful, do their own part and leave God to His own part.

Omobude, who preached for atmosphere of peace within the country and maintained that Nigerians should be accommodating no matter ethnic or religion biases, called on Nigerians irrespective of their religion or tribe to repent as a nation for innocent blood spilled on the ground.

He admonished Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness the way Jesus Christ did for one another and for peace to reign in the country.

His words: “Easter is significant because it marks the heart-beat of our Christian faith. It is the season set aside to celebrate the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us. The major lesson is sacrifice, we should learn to sacrifice and give other people preference before us.”

Besides, the PFN national president, who called on Christian faithful to draw closer to God, emphasised the need for Christians to be like Jesus Christ.“We must draw closer to God, practise our faith in spite of challenges. Nigerians should build path of peace and make the country habitable. The death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ means the restoration of man in good relationship with his Creator.”

In the same vein, PFN National Publicity, Bishop Emmah Isong, called on the government to tackle the issue of insecurity the way corruption is being tackled. Bishop Isong, who stated that Easter celebration is greater than Christmas, said that Easter period is a time of sober reflection.
