Former Director General of Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Salihu Lukman, has threatened to sue the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged breaches of laid down rules and regulations of the party.
Lukman, in an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, claimed that the party breached Sections 221 to 229 of Part Il of the 1999 Constitution as amended, as well as the Electoral Act 2022.
The former APC Vice National Chairmen (North West) accused the APC leadership of embarrassingly running the party that does not value principles of consultations and respecting valid agreements contracted through diligent political negotiations.
The Kaduna State-born politician promised to retrace his steps if Tinubu orders a full-scale return to constitutional and legal order in APC between now and June 7, 2024.
He cited the refusal to hold meetings of organs of the party and the appointment of Abdullahi Ganduje as the national chairman of the party in breach of the zoning formula as some of the infractions being committed by the party.
Claiming that he made several unsuccessful attempts to meet Tinubu since last year, he remarked that it beat his imagination that the APC-led administration was associated with decisions that subvert democracy outright.
The letter dated May 21, 2024, was addressed to Ganduje, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen of the House of Representatives, Chairman of PGF, Hope Uzodimma, and all past APC national chairmen.
