Plateau stops water production, distribution

The Management of Jos Water Services Corporation has said they are temporarily out of production and distribution of water to the general public because of epileptic electricity distribution in the country.

The Managing Director of the Corporation Engr. Appollos Samchi made this known at the Headquarters of the Corporation yesterday.

According to the Managing Director, the problem of electricity that led to the stoppage of production is a national issue and not only in Jos.

He is therefore appealing to the general public to remain calm while government will do everything possible to restore normal electricity distribution.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Plateau State Caleb Mutfwang had provided a temporary solution for production by the use of Generating Plant at the Laminga water treatment plant near British American junction.

In view of this, Management is encouraging Hotels, Industries, Event Centers, Hospitals, Schools, Government Establishments, and other Business Premises that require water to be lifted by Tankers at the aforementioned Plant. Households are also to fetch their drinking water at same plant by use of Jerry cans at a water point provided inside the Plant.

“The Management regrets the inconvenience the service disruption might have caused to the cherished customers and the general public,” it said.
