The Kanam Development Association (KADA) has condemned the alleged killing of Faisal Yakubu Hussaini Adafa by Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officers in Kanam Local Council, Plateau State. Describing the incident as unlawful, KADA Chairman Garba Aliyu and Secretary ShehuKanam called for justice in a co-signed statement.

“We strongly condemn this brutal and unjustifiable killing,” the statement read, urging the immediate arrest and prosecution of those involved. KADA stressed that while NDLEA has the right to enforce the law, such actions erode public trust. The association also urged the youth to remain calm as they seek legal redress.

In a related incident, three Berom youths were reportedly killed in BarkinLadi Local Council. The victims, Chollom Daniel (27), Jang Joseph (21), and Richard Dapel (18), were allegedly attacked while going about their daily activities. Two others were critically injured and are receiving treatment.

The Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), led by Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, attributed the attack to Fulani militants. Mwantiri urged military intervention to prevent further violence in BarkinLadi, Riyom, and parts of Jos South.

BYM called for thorough investigations, arrests, compensation for destroyed farmlands, and medical support for the injured. They commended Major-General AbdulsalamAbubakar, Commander of Operation Safe Haven, and pledged support to Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. When contacted, OPSH Spokesman Major Samson Zhakom promised feedback but had not responded as of press time.
