There was pandemonium, yesterday, in Kogi State, when the police arrested a boy, Goodness Oshodi, for allegedly burying his kid brother, Friday, alive for stealing N10,000 belonging to their mother.

The incident occurred at Apamisede community, near Army Barracks, in Adavi Local Council of the state.

The younger Oshodi was, however, lucky as good Samaritans exhumed him alive.

According to eyewitnesses, the boy’s mother had directed her eldest son to punish Friday for stealing N10,000.

He, subsequently, decided to bury the victim alive until neighbours came to his rescue.

When asked why he decided to bury his brother alive, Goodness said he was only carrying out his mother’s directive to punish his brother for stealing.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the state police command, William Aya, said the culprit has been arrested and undergoing interrogation.

“The boy has been arrested, investigation is ongoing to ascertain how such could have happened. The eldest Oshodi dug a pit and buried his brother alive. The victim has since been rescued by neighbours, while the suspect has been taken into custody,” he added.
