The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspected hoodlum who was alleged to have snatched Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) from electoral officers with his gang members in Dekina.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRP), William Aya, who confirmed the arrest yesterday, said the police recovered 55 PVCs from the suspect as the command was still on the trail of the remaining fleeing suspects as well as the PVCs carted away.

He said the PVCs were snatched from electoral officers at the primary school in Egume where they were being distributed.

Aya said the police was still investigating the matter to bring to book other members of the gang that carried out the act.

In another development, a statement signed by Aya said the police had also arrested two vicious armed robbery suspects belonging to a gang who had been terrorising the state.
