The Ogun state police command has arrested a man identified as Taye Agbaje for allegedly killing his younger brother’s two children in the Kemta region of Abeokuta.
In a statement issued on Monday, the state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said Agbaje allegedly murdered Promise, aged nine, and seven-year-old Testimony.
The accused in a shocking circulating video had openly confessed to violently attacking the two children in a secluded area and abandoning their bodies there.
During his interrogation, Agbaje who is now in police custody denied any intention of using the two children for rituals.
He, however, fell short of giving any explanation regarding the missing private parts of the children which were said to have been missing at the crime scene.
On being taken to the Kemta police division in Abeokuta by the residents of the area, the gravity of his crimes emerged.
Agbaje confessed to the horrific act and led the police to the spot where he had left the victims.
Ogun state police spokesperson, Odutola, while confirming the tragic event, labelled it as “incomprehensible.”
“The suspect exhibited no signs of remorse, continuously blaming his actions on satanic influences,” Odutola stated.
