Police confirm discovery of corps member’s lifeless body in Ogun apartment
There was confusion yesterday, following discovery of the lifeless body of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Medaiyese Emmanuel, on the floor of his apartment, at Sogbesan Street, in the Oluwo area of Abeokuta.
The mother had been unable to reach him on his mobile phone. Thereafter, she sought assistance from one of his friends, Olumide, and neighbours, prompting a check at the deceased’s residence.
An eyewitness, who gave his name as Toyo, said Olumide and the others discovered that the room had been locked from within. When they finally gained access, they discovered the lifeless body on the floor.
Confirming the development, spokesperson for Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said the body didn’t have any visible signs of violence.
“He was found lifeless on the floor of his room. There was no indication that any crime was committed when our men visited the scene. In the meantime, the corpse has been deposited at the state hospital for autopsy,” she added.
