The Nigeria Police high command has mopped up thousands of guns and ammunition across the country.
The mopped-up arms were today handed over to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons in Abuja.
Speaking at the handing over of the rifles, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, noted that banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery across the country are fueled by small arms and light weapons.
265 Automatic rifles, Rocket Launchers were among the hundreds of guns handed over to the centre.
