The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday said it neutralised 13 suspected kidnappers during various operations from June to September this year.

A spokesperson for the command, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, in a statement said that the command was able to rescue 268 abducted persons during the same period.

He added that 104 armed robbery suspects were arrested and that 97 murder/culpable homicide suspects were also arrested.

Aliyu said 148 suspected rapists were arrested, and seven suspects were arrested in possession of illicit drugs, while exhibits recovered include, one English pistol, as well as 523 rounds of live ammunition.

Other exhibits, according to the statement, include four AK-47 rifles, six locally made guns, more than 600 suspected rustled animals, 12 suspected stolen motor vehicle/motorcycle, and 17 suspected stolen Moblie phones.

It identified illicit drugs recovered during period under review to include, 568 sachet of D5; 180 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be indian hemp, 23 packets of Exzole tablet, 411 packets Rebozel tablet, and five packets of Diezole tablet.
