THE Delta State Police have recovered the remains of the Obi of Ubulu Uku, His Royal Highness Edward Akaeze Ofulue III in Aniocha South Local Council of the state.
Ofulue III was kidnapped alongside a friend on January 5 at a bad spot between the small towns of Igbodo and Obior on his way home from the state capital of Asaba.
The Delta Police Spokesperson, Celestina Kalu who spoke in Asaba yesterday, explained that the corpse of the monarch, which has since
been deposited at an undisclosed hospital, has been identified as that of the traditional ruler by his family members.
Kalu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police said that efforts are being made by the police to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous act.
She recalled that when the police received report of the kidnap, detectives were immediately mobilised in search of the Obi and
possible arrest of the hoodlums, adding that the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in which both victims were travelling was found abandoned in the bush around Igbodo area.
