PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the latest terrorist attacks on Borno and Yobe communities by the Boko Haram bandits.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, the President said he was deeply touched by these mindless incidents of violence on innocent people during the month of Ramadan.

According to President Buhari, the terrorists are enemies of everybody, and enemies of humanity everywhere.

He said that no sane people who believe in God would be destroying the lives of innocent people in cold blood, adding that terrorists don’t represent any religion.

The President said the pattern of their indiscriminate violence against innocent people shows that they represent nothing else but anarchy and devilry.

In what appears to be one of his toughest expressions of outrage, President Buhari reminded the terrorists of his uncompromising resolve to tackle them with all the resources at the disposal of his government.

“Make no mistake about it: this government is ever determined to discharge its fundamental duty of protecting the lives of its citizens from physical threats from any groups bent on creating chaos, confusion, and on destroying social and economic life of the people”, he further warned.

President Buhari, who extended his sympathy to the families of the victims, reassured all Nigerians that his government would never tolerate terrorists blackmail, and that our security forces would confront the Boko Haram bandits to the last man.

Describing terrorists as “cowards who lack any moral inhibition and any iota of humanity to reason compassionately”, he said they would not find Nigeria a safe haven because they would be “hunted down without mercy and compromise.”

The President, who reassured Nigerians that security would be tackled by his administration with vigorous determination, however, advised Nigerians to show more vigilance and be alert to the presence of suspicious people around them, adding: “The terrorists are enemies of religion and humanity. No true believers in any God would target worshippers, holy places, or people who are fasting and other innocent Nigerians.”

The president talking tough you would say. It is unfortunate that the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram has continue to intensify vehemently its dastardly acts in spite of the Nigerian Army painstaking efforts targeted at figting back the terrorists.

Fighting terrorism and violent religious extremism have never been easy tasks globally. It is so painful the number of casualties, especially the innocent lives has increased sharply. We can only urge the president and the Nigerian Army to speed up whatever measures being put in place in order to stop these senseless killings.

The presidency has charged Nigerians, particularly those in the terror-ridden zone of the country to be security conscious by being on red alert at all times. We cannot stage a successful fight against terrorists if the military men are left alone to do the task without useful pieces of information that can aid them while confronting the terrorists in their hide out places.

It is our utmost believe that the Nigerian security apparatus deployed to the terror-ridden states, Borno and Adamawa respectively would yield the much needed desired result as soon as the completion of all logistics is achieved by the military.

The Islamist terrorists are always mindless when it comes to launching their acts of savagery on citizenry, not even the Holy month of Ramadan can scuttle their sinister ambitions. These are set of people doomed for absolute destruction; they cannot be de-radicalized.

Together, we must remain united to fight out every element of this untoward ideology which has only helped in decimating life longevity, alongside other evolving diseases of our time.

Useless president. You lied and decieved Nigerians to vote for you to end attacks. Now we witnessed more attacks in your first 30 days in Office than former government. Bad Dictator
