Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tonye Princewill, has predicted that 2023 elections in Rivers State will be peaceful unlike previous polls marred by violence and crisis.

Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tonye Princewill, has predicted that 2023 elections in Rivers State will be peaceful unlike previous polls marred by violence and crisis.

He, however, said the only way the state could witness peace is when major political actors speak peace, especially the state Governor, Nyesom Wike and his predecessor, Chibuike Amaechi.

Princewill, while speaking in Port Harcourt at the weekend, explained that in the recent times, the APC leader in the state, Amaechi, has been calm, focusing on his assignments from the Federal Government as his priority.

“Rivers State government has a very loud voice; whatever it says travels far. So our job is to ensure that someone who speaks sense occupies the Brick House, so when he speaks, he preaches peace and not negative and violent words.”

He expressed optimism that an APC government that would speak the language of peace and unity would occupy the number one seat in Rivers State come 2023.

Princewill described Amaechi as an asset to the nation, describing him as a good listener, who does not joke with advice and criticism.

Amaechi, according to him, remains the best to lead the nation out of its numerous challenges.

On the Electoral Act, he said the President would sign the Electoral Act but should be given more time.

“I am sure that in no distance time, the President will sign the Act,” he said.
