Pro-AbdulRazaq group carpets Buhari’s ministers from Kwara

Concerned Kwara Elders and Stakeholders the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have thrown their weights behind Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, while describing Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, and Minister of State for Transport, Gbemisola Saraki, as paper tigers.

Led by Kunle Suleiman, the party chieftains expressed support for the decision of the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee of the party to sack Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as chairman of the party in the state.

Amb. Nurudeen Mohammed, who addressed reporters on behalf of the elders, maintained that the party’s decision to appoint Alhaji Abdullahi Samari to replace Bolarinwa was in the best interest of the party.

He said the two ministers would not be able to muster enough grassroots support to unseat Governor Abdulrazak in the 2023 poll.

“The governor represents the entire essence of the ‘O toge’ mantra. The ministers are appointees of the President. They were not appointed because they have the votes in Kwara.”

We know ourselves and we know those who are on the ground and those who are mere paperweight politicians. If they go against the ‘O toge’ mantra, ‘O toge’ will fight them.

“Why then would anyone from his own party go against him? The only explanation is that such persons are not interested in development, but in their own hidden agenda which is at variance with the ‘O toge’ mantra,” they maintained.

Claiming to have kept quiet for long in the expectation that good reason would prevail, the APC elders added: “But silence is no longer golden, and it is about time every patriot within and outside our party stood by this humble and hard-working gentleman in order not to allow a few persons with dangerous sense of entitlement and greed to erode the historic gains of 2019.”
