PTAD spends N102b on pension payment in 15 Months

Pension Arrangement Department (PTAD) has said pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (BDS) have received N102.82b pension between January 2018 and March 2019.

A breakdown of the money shows that N59.97b was utilised to fund Parastatal Pension Department in 15 month, N45.05b in 2018 while N14.92b was spent in the first quarter of this year.

PTAD Executive Secretary, Sharon Ikeazor confirmed the payment by the Federal Government at the North Central Stakeholders’ forum in Abuja.

Ikeazor said for Civil Servants Pension Department, N26.4b was released during the period.

She said: ‘’PTAD paid out N8.64b to Customs, Immigration and Prisons Service out of which N6.81b was for 2018, while the balance of N1.84b was utilised in the first quarter of this year, the sum of N7.78b was released to police out of which N6.12b was the amount utilised in 2018, while the balance of N1.65b was for the first quarter of 2019.’’
