Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has eulogised past and present leaders of the state, including late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and Muhammadu Buhari, for their contributions to the state and the nation’s development.
Speaking yesterday at a book launch held at the main auditorium of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Radda noted that their various contributions made the state and country united.
The book titled “100-Plus Eminent Nigerians from Katsina State Vol 1” was co-written by Shehu Sarki Idris and Isaac Ugbeshe, and profiles prominent sons and daughters of the state and their contributions to state and nation building.
The governor said the prominent personalities, some of whom were still alive or had retired from active service, made positive impacts in their various endeavours that are still well spoken of till date.
He said: “People like the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and late President Muhammadu Buhari, through whom the state was able to have leaders at the national level for three consecutive times.”
“People like the late former governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, who lasted only a few months in office, but was a respected and revered leader, and is still being respected years after his death.”
