Rally round Tinubu, former Rep urges Nigerians
A former member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Lanre Odubote, has urged Nigerians to rally round All Progressive Congress’s (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to win the next general election.
Odubote, who specifically appealed to electorate in the southern part of the nation to place less attention on religious sentiment in the choice of the running mate to Tinubu, said it was not possible that a Muslim-muslim ticket headed by the former governor of Lagos State, would jeopardise or threaten the interest of Christians in the country.
He said the south should be wise and not allow itself to be deprived of producing the next president base on religious excuses.
According to him: “The political reality now is that it may be difficult for Tinubu to pick a Christian from the Northern minorities with the hope of defeating the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Secondly, the national leader is not a religious fanatic. He has never been and he wouldn’t be as a president.”
