Reps member recounts how he survived 13 court cases

Adefarati

Lawmaker representing Akoko South West/Akoko South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Gboyega Adefarati, revealed at the weekend that he faced no fewer than 13 court cases in his pursuit to represent his people at the National Assembly.

The lawmaker, who is the son of the late former governor of the state, Adebayo Adefarati, stated that the numerous court cases that he surmounted were part of his many political struggles and travails in the buildup to and after the 2023 general elections.

During a thanksgiving service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South Council of the state, Adefarati attributed his triumph to the reputation and integrity of his late father, Adebayo Adefarati.

He acknowledged that his father’s legacy played a significant role in his ability to surmount the travails that came his way.

While assuring his constituents that he would serve the people selflessly, just as his father did between 1999 and 2003, he vowed not to deviate from the progressive ideals of his late father.

Adefarati, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Labour, Productivity and Employment, also used the occasion to mark his 100 days in office, where he distributed N50,000 to 100 persons each from the constituency to cushion the current economic situation.
