Reps query NECO over alleged non-remittance of N7 billion
The House of Representatives yesterday queried the National Examination Council (NECO) for allegedly not remitting N6.6 billion to the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF).The questioning followed the findings of the James Abiodun Faleke-led House Committee on Finance which found the organisation wanting in observance of the Fiscal Responsibility Act on remittances to the federation account.
Faleke, who grilled NECO’s Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), Jacob Samuel for over an hour, decried the exams body’s paltry N6 million remittance to the CRF after generating over N6.6 billion in 2014.as well as the payment of N1.5 billion in 2018 to same account after making over N11.5 that year.
