Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Musa Bello, has threatened to overhaul the development control department over report of building collapse.

The minister disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, when he received report of the Panel of Inquiry on Jabi Building Collapse.

He said the action would lead to the deployment and redeployment of strategic staff of the department.

FCT administration had set up the panel of enquiry to unravel both the immediate and remote causes of the building collapse, which took place on August 17, 2018.

The collapse of the uncompleted building recorded some deaths with several others trapped until some were rescued.

Represented by the FCT Permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, the minister said the FCT is set to breath new life into the department to make it more efficiently and give developers value for their money.

Chairman of the panel and Director General/Chief Executive officer, Nigeria Building and Road Research.
